Is that a garage as well or just a workshop. Looks good though, wish i had that much space.
just a garage, I have spent last couple of evenings putting silver window film on all windows and then fitting the bars....
if you look closely on pic four, you can see my plum line and cork for when to stop....

Looking good mate room now to hide away and polish with no stupid comments from neighbours
Nice one. being a 307 owner i know what you mean about the first pic, but if you had a 3 door...... well it would be a squeeze.
Looking good though mate!

the 307 is 5 foot, 8 inch and 7/10s wide, the garage is exactly 10 foot...there's room <scanner style response or what!!!

YG
Looks good YG. More width than my garage.
Did that garage sway your decision to purchase that particular house by any chance?
... ![]()
Haven't you got it painted yet?
I am sooo jealous. That is an unusually spacious garage, top find!
I suppose I'm lucky to be able to use a garage at all (hehe, the folks had no option, my car WAS going in one of the two garages and that was it
), but there is a wall in the middle which is unusual and there is no
room at the end; in fact it sort of extends over the bonnet of my car, I couldn't have a bigger car because it wouldn't fit! I have to park it right
over to one side just to get in; already managed to take a chip out of the door edge against the wall

Love the phone to, you can order up takeaway food from the house!
Cheers
Nice one YG.
I'm just doing up my double garage and there are so many similarities (separate power supply; design of workbenches etc) that one of us must've been
spying for ideas!

thanks for the comments Gents.
Isn't it sad how we can be made so happy by the availability of such a building? Its so much easier for me now, as everything came out of the cellar
in the old house everyone who was helping kept gasping as yet another box of detailing appeared. They all kept asking how I ever managed to lug it
all in and out AND have any energy left to actually detail the car (or words to that effect)
Hoping to have my first 'play' tomorrow. I'm off thu and fri so maybe a wash and quik wax just to have a quiet hour to myself once I've re-laid
the flags, fitted and trimmed the two blainds in the kitchen, fixed the leaking rad in the third bedroom, pressure washed the drive and paths,
made/fixed and mounted a fence to stop the dogs going onto the rear lawn, etc etc, etc
Anyone else gonna miss that old road

I hope you are going to post some pictures of you "mounting" the fence.

did somebody ask something?
Perfectly reasonable question.
So get down off the fence and answer it.
no probs, was getting splinters anyway
Nice pad YG, i wish i had a garage like that, all i've got is an 8 X 6 shed, and i have to park the car on double yellas when i wash and clean it.
continued progress, whole roof now completely free of the 1 and half inch layer of moss, only five hours to scrape off
the roof sealant is next after a good soaking of bleech.....
and then a good coat of paint outside, then strip the inside bear and painting there....
Is the inside bear the same as the outside bear?
I suppose it's better than being outside bare this weather.

but, but it is the spitting image of the teddy one.....

I won't even mention the bleach.

YG maybe you should power wash the roof before sealing it?? Just for a better bond?
update, I've now removed all the moss from the roff, bleeched it clean, painted it with primer, and then roof sealant...so its sorted for the next
ten years, didnt cost too much but did take me 18 hours sih
And this morning I've now fitted a remote wireless alarm as well....
just got the outside walls to pint, and its back to the inside for the winter months.....

They don't sell paint in pints anyway, they only sell metric paint these days as it goes miles further.

looking good YG, makes a huge difference form the street eh? Very jealous though, we have the worlds largest garage and once again it's full of
brick, paviers, kids bikes, recylcling, just about everything but my car .....! What makes it worse is that was the whole reason I brought the house
in the fiorst place! oh well .......

when will you learn?
am off to donington this sunday? you busy?
yeah, going to Brighton for the American Chopper tour - No.1 son has been bending my ear for the past 4 weeks, so have to go ....... it's a hrad life eh!
crushing!
well since this post on 5.8.05 I'm still working at it.
I've not painted one wall and replaced the carp chip board shelving with ply wood.
I've had to do some sealing work around the base, some am about to go out today, and dried floor pending, applied the seal internally around the edge
and paint the next wall. Unfortunately each wall is needing three coats of paint.

I've also fitted by propper garage hooks to hold everything securely. And once its all painted up, I'm going to fit some door to the front of the
bottom shelves:

right, off to paint before getting ready to go do a day's work!
managed to get the edge sealed all way round and gave the second wall its first coat, proving tiresome work this

What more do you expect!!!!

Its threads like this that make me glad skelo joined up so I can pass the torch of toilet talk to another. I had gotten tired of that name anyway.

well got home last night to find all my hard work crawling round the damn floor applying thick sh1ty tar paint hadn't made any difference, still got
this leak somewhere

Is it coming through the front door? You've said you have sealed everywhere else, this is the only other area that can't be sealed.
Try putting down some cheapo talc around the edges, to maybe trace the source of the leak.
Cheers
Skelo
Cheers Skelo, I have had exactly that idea whilst painting the second coat this morning, only thing is, until its completely dry and then rains again
no can do
Got the second coat of paint doen, just another to go, then can start on the back wall and bench/shelves, I'm getting there slowly.
Have you sealed the back wall where your bench is?
And don't worry, i sure it will soon rain!!!
Cheers
Skelo
I've sealed all the way round inside, and I've managed 95% of the outside. The sealant still hasn't full dry and bonded inside so I suppose the
water could be forcing its way under it until we get some driier warmer weather.
I've just been and done the third anf fourth wall coats so that's that wall done now, only the back bench wall remaining.
had a good weekend of progress, my edging selant has finally dried out, and even tho we've had some serious down pours the water appears to be
staying outside now

This morning I emptied the back bench out, paint the back wall (used decent paint and got it done in two coats), and on return from the tip (old
shelving chipboard and carpets) I made a purpose build free standing shelf to bridge over my tool box to keep the stereo and speakers on, give me more
bench room/uses the space more efficiently.
Next is the floor paint, just got to ensure its staying dry first, and then pressure washer it out and leave to dry (may have to book some time off
work to get this bit done).

well thought I'd keep you up to date, I spend three hours today putting the second coat on the roof, as the inside is all but done paint wise....
painted

post paint

and the back wall prior to painting

and finished roof:

and to give an idea of scale of the roof and paint job far right you car just see the roof of the 206....

next is to tidy up the sealant around the inside edges, and then fit sliding doors to the botton bench shelves, oh, and on good weather days, paint
the outside too
next job on the horizon on Monday, clubhouse gets full re-wire and proper sockets installed
Hope it's getting wired by a pro?

Separate fuse box and only RCD's I take it?
separate fuse box and full inline RCD, all pro fitted and shock free! am good with electrics that way

:qq:
Next time i'm up your end, i'll be wearing rubber boots and keeping out of the clubhouse!

We'll put it to the test on the 3rd with a group of PC's running of it Iain.
YG - wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just fit these to your sockets - only £15 from screwfix.

made the next improvement this weekend. Having removed the minging fitted wardrobes from our bedroom, I promtly, with NYGs assistance tailored them
into the garage
when we moved in last July:

and how it is today

just need a good lick of paint, and some flooring.
Looks good YG, now you don't have to keep it tidy, just shove everything in the cupboards and close the door. Out of site etc
needs painting first, the purpose made rail and skirting across the top, re-coat the rest, will look much tidier and not hinder any reflection pics... :qq:
